India clinched nail-biting match against West Indies

 

 Rohit Sharma hit a half-century

 

India registered a thrilling one-wicket victory over the West Indies in Cuttack in a nail-biting 1st one day international as tail-ender Varun Aaron hit the winning runs in the 49th over.Chasing  211 made by West Indies,India had a bad start of their innings,as they lost the top 5 wickets at the score of  59 runs.Rohit Sharma and Ravi Jadeja stabilized the innings by sharing an important partnership.Sharma hit three fours and one huge straight six in his crucial knock of 72.Ravi Jadeja scored 38 runs.

Earlier,West Indies managed to score 211 in their 50 overs as Darren Bravo scored 60 and Danza Hyatt 31. Yadav (2-33) and Aaron (2-47) were the leading wicket takers29 balls before he was bowled by Russell and when Raina gave his wicket away to be caught by Bravo off the same bowler for five, India were in deep trouble with just 59 runs on the board and half the side dismissed.

India leads the series by 1-0.The second game in the series is in 2nd December in Visakhapatnam.
