Match-13:Kochi Surprised Mumbai beating by eight wickets

Kochi Tuskers Kerala stun Mumbai Indians,by registering an eight-wicket win to get off the mark in the IPL 2011.

Tendulkar made a maiden marvelous century in IPL,making 100 not out in 66 balls,hitting 12 fours and three sixes.He played couple of Mahendra Singh Dhoni special 'helicoptor' shots in his inning.He was supported well,once again by the promising batsman Ambati Rayudu, who blasted his second consecutive half-century in making 53 in just 33 balls.

In reply,from Kochi- Jayawardene made 56 in 36 balls with nine fours while McCullum strucked 81 in 60 balls,smashing ten fours and two sixes. Jadeja made an unbeaten 25 in 11 balls and Hodge made 11 in seven to steer the Kochi side to a first victory in IPL.

Match-12:Kallis And Gambhir steared Kolkata to second victory

Kolkata Knight Riders registered a comprehensive nine wicket victory over Rajasthan Royals with the help of unbeaten half-centuries from skipper Gautam Gambhir and Jacques Kallis at Jaipur.

Chasing 160 runs, The World Cup final Hero- Gambhir .
made unbeaten with 75 runs off just 44 balls, with eleven fours and one sixe. Meanwhile Kallis made 80 not out off 65 balls including seven fours and two sixes.


Earlier,  Rajasthan made 160 with the important contributions from Dravid who made 35 runs off 34 balls with four fours and the youngster Menaria who scored 27 off 21 balls, including two fours and one six.Pathan took two wickets in an over removing both Dravid and Menaria two balls later.Then Watson continued his form from Bangladesh, making 22 runs off 13 balls, hitting two big sixes. while Taylor  stayed unbeaten on 35 off only 25 balls, with two fours and sixes each.

Match 11:Deccan Chargers registered a maiden win at home

Deccan Chargers won their first game at home in Hyderabad in IPL with a 33-run win over the Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Batting first, Chargers made 175 for five with the help of an unbeaten half-century from Barat Chipli.but the real star was Chipli, who made 61 off 35 including five fours, three sixes.JP Duminy played a cameo inning of 22 in 15 balls on his 27th birthday.Experienced Zaheer took three for 32,but it was not good enough.

Despite an impressive 71 from 51 balls by Virat Kohli, the Challengers managed to reach only 142 for nine in reply.Sunny Sohal made 38 and Kumar Sangakkara made 36.

Dale Steyn and Manpreet Gony both took three wickets.

Match-10:Pune Warriors beat Kochi Tuskers Kerala

Wayne Parnell’s  three wickets for 35 for Pune helped to register a four-wicket win over Kochi Tuskers Kerala in Mumbai.

Mohnish Mishra's  unbeaten on 37 in 21 balls help his side to reach 151 for six in reply to Kerala's 148 for eight. Uthappa hit three fours and two sixes, in his 31 in 12 balls.

Earlier, Kochi had a worst start,as score read 24 for four,loosing  Brendon McCullum , VVS Laxman, Mahela Jyawardene  and Parthiv Patel cheaply. Hodge steadied the ship with Jadeja by making 39 in 36 balls.Jadeja made 47 in 33 balls.

Match-8:Mumbai Indians crushed Royal Challengers Bangalore

The Mumbai Indians continued their winning habit with a comprehensive nine-wicket win over the Royal Challengers Bangalore with the help of fine unbeaten half-centuries from Sachin Tendulkar and Ambati Rayadu.Tendulkar remained unbeaten on 55 in 46 balls, while Rayadu made 63 not out in 50 balls,hitting nine fours.

Earlier Tillakaratne Dilshan's 59 not out in 52 balls and 38 from AB de Villiers had guided the Challengers to 140 for four after a disasterous start as Lasith Malinga took a wicket with the first ball of the match.

Match-7:Rajasthan Royals registers a Second Win beating Delhi Daredevils

Johan Botha steered the Rajasthan Royals to a second victory in this IPL with an unbeaten 39 beating the Delhi Daredevils by six wickets. Rahul Dravid made 38 in 31 balls

Chasing down 152,Daredevils managed to reach 151 for six.

Shaun Tait removed Virender Sehwag (4) and Aaron Finch (11) while the Legend Shane Warne removed Unmukt Chund for nought and Naman Ojha for two, put the Daredevils on the back foot.

David Warner led an excellent fightback with 54 in 44 balls including four fours and one six while Venugopal Rao strucked an excellent 60 in 40.

Match-6:Knight Riders Get Off The Mark beating Chargers

With the help of the crucial knock of fifty from Jacques Kallis the Kolkata Knight Riders registered a nine-run win over the Deccan Chargers at Eden Gardens in front of home fans.

Kallis blasted 53 in 45 balls hitting seven fours and one six. Manoj Tiwary blasted 30 in 21 balls and Yusuf Pathan 22 in 15 to form a good total for Kolkata Knight Riders.

Leg-spinner Amit Mishra took two wickets of Manvinder Bisla (19) and Gautam Gambhir (29) .

The Chargers lost wickets regularly before they were held to 154 for eight in reply.

Abdulla returned three for 24 while Jaydev Unadkat and Rajat Bhatia both took two wickets.

Match-5:Pune Warriors opens the IPL account with an excellent Victory

Pune Warriors made an impressive start of their IPL campaign,beating Kings XI Punjab by seven wickets at Mumbai.

Kings XI had a horrible start,as Alfonso Thomas got Gilchrist and Shrikant Wagh had Shaun Marsh caught.The situation worsened when Paul Valthaty got out to Thomas and then Dinesh Karthik, both out caught. The score was for four in only the 4th over.

Ryan Mclaren to the crease and he held the innings together with a superb half century under pressure.His 51 not out off 43 balls, including six fours and one six. Kings ended their innings at 112 for eight.

Set 113 to chase, Pune lost Graeme Smith off the first ball from Praveen Kumar.But from then on, Mithun Manhas and Jesse Ryder steadied the ship putting on 60 runs for the second wicket. Manhas scored 35 off 32 balls including five fours and one six, while Ryder scored 31 off 17 balls with the help of six boundaries.

Yuvraj Singh and Robin Uthappa then scored quickfire twenties to stear Pune to a well-deserved victory. 

Match-4:Malinga destroyed Delhi in the opening match of IPL

Lasith Malinga crushed Delhi Daredevils as the Mumbai Indians registered an eight-wicket win in their opening encounter of IPL 2011. The Sri Lankan slinger took five wickets for 13 runs in 3.4 overs by his sensational fast bowling.

On the 8th ball of the Delhi’s inning, Malinga bowled David Warner and then two balls later took the wicket of Unmukt Chand. Sehwag was run out in the fifth over scoring 19,including two fours and one six. Wicket-keeper batsman Naman Ojha made 29 crucial runs and was supported by Venugopal Rao who added 26 runs. Malinga returned to finish off the tail, bowling out Rao and Morne Morkel, while Ashish Dinda was caught in the circle off his bowling.

Chasing the total which was not challenging enough, Mumbai skipper Sachin Tendulkar made 46 runs off 50 balls with three fours and a six,taking his side home in 16.5 overs.Rohit Sharma supported him well,who remained unbeaten on 27 runs off 30 balls, with three fours.

Match-3:De Villiers cruised Bangalore To Victory

Royal Challengers Bangalore kicked off IPL-4 campaign with a six-wicket victory over IPL debutants Kochi Tuskers Kerala at Kochi.
They easily chased 161-run target set by Kochi thanks to an aggressive unbeaten half-century from AB de Villiers hitting the 18th over for 20 runs, smacking three huge sixes.20-year-old opening batsman Mayank Agarwal smacked 33 runs off only 24 balls and Kohli scored 23 runs off 18 balls with four fours for Royal Challengers.


Earlier, Kochi Tuskers made 161 with the help of the crucial partnership between Brendon McCullum and VVS Laxman.
Laxman scored 36 runs off 29 balls and McCullum scored 45 runs off 32 balls.

Match 2:Rajasthan Royals Crushed Chargers by eight wickets

Rajasthan Royals cruised to an eight-wicket win over Deccan Chargers at Hyderabad.

Chasing 138 to win, Johan Botha from Royals scored a magnificent 67 not out off 47 balls, including eight fours and one six.He made 52-run partnership with Dravid who made 28.Ross Taylor then finished off the match in the 19th over. He made 21 runs off 14 balls, with one four and two sixes.Stayen took 2 wickets of Royals.

Earlier,from Chargers- Dhawan,made 24 quick runs,hitting two fours and a six.Siddharth Trivedi took three wickts of the Chargers.

Match-1:Chennai Super Kings beat Kolkata Knight Riders by two runs

The 2011 Indian Premier League got off to an exciting start as champions Chennai Super Kings beat Kolkata Knight Riders by two runs in the thrilling opening encounter.
With the help of an explosive half-century(64) from Anirudha Srikkanth,who blasted six fours and two sixes,Chennai Super Kings posted a total of 153 for 4.He was given good support from Suresh Raina (33) and Mahendra Singh Dhoni (29).


Chasing the total of 153,Kolkata just managed to make 151 for seven.From Knight Riders, Jacques Kallis made classic 54,hitting seven fours.
