KIWIS RIDE TO VICTORY WITH RYDER'S OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCE

Jesse Ryder showed sensational performance with bat and ball as New Zealand won the fifth one-day international against India by eight wickets.
What a strange game , cricket is, few days back New Zealand looks down and out against the powerful Indian batting line up and today’s their bowlers performed exceptionally well to restrict the Indians for just 149 runs in 36.3 overs and then came out with all guns blazing to reach the target in 23.2 overs with the loss of just two wickets.

It seems that Indian team after there last victory, played the fifth ODI with over confidence what they did when they started their tour. It was not just loss but what New Zealand batsman and bowler done in this match will give some headache to the Indian captain. Their prime bowler Zaheer Khan and Ishant Sharma went for plenty. Both bowled 15.2 overs between them and conceded 114 runs.
After being beaten heavily in the last three ODI’s this is one of the best comebacks by the team who already lost the series. The star for New Zealand in this match was Jesse Ryder who first took three important wickets (Yuvraj, Dhoni and Y.Pathan) and then smashed 63 runs of just 49 balls.Iain O'Brien and Jacob Oram both picked up two wickets each.

Earlier due to rain, match was reduced to 43 overs a side. M.S.Dhoni after winning the toss decided to bat first in cloudy condition. They didn't get the start from their openers and lost G.Gambhir very early with just 30 runs on the board in the fifth over.
However Virendra Sehwag continued to play in same fashion despite the ball was moving a lot. He smashed 40 runs in just 27 balls with three huge six and three boundaries to the fence.
Apart from him only Rohit Sharma (43 runs of 74 balls) and Yuvraj Singh (11 runs of 24 balls) was other India batsman to reach double figures. Rest of the Indian batting failed and wickets have fallen like pack of cards.

In reply to India's small total of 149 runs,Jessee Ryder, smashed 63 runs of just 49 balls, including six fours and four sixes, shared a second-wicket stand of 84 with Martin Guptill after the early loss of Brendon McCullum.
Ryder was bowled by Ishant Sharma with the score on 93 but Guptill finished the job in the company of Ross Taylor.
Jesse Ryder is declared Man of the Match for his all round performance with bat and ball.

One of the shameful batting displays by the Indians. India lost the match by eight wickets, but in the manner they have lost it was really ridiculous. How any one can say this is one of the best batting lineup India have ever produced. If you see the stats whenever they get good start from openers only then they manage to put huge total on the board.
Today's match was one of the worst days on this tour for Dhoni and his men and it would be nice to forget the day as soon as possible because first test match is just few days away.

A three-Test series, starting in Hamilton on March 18.

SMASHING SEHWAG SEALS SERIES

India won another rain-interrupted one-day international in emphatic fashion against New Zealand to take the five-game series 3-0 with one game remaining.

Virendra Sehwag smashed a magnificent unbeaten century to guide Team India to first one day international series win on New Zealand soil after 33 years.
Virendra Sehwag in the process of his 11th ODI century also breaks the record of fastest century by the Indian batsman in ODI. He scored his century by hitting the Daniel Vettori for six to reach his three figure mark in just 60 balls.

In that way,he surpassed the previous record of fastest century held by Md. Azharuddin (100 of 62 balls). Sehwag's 100 runs of 60 balls are the seventh fastest century of all time in the world.

Earlier New Zealand captain Daniel Vettori won the toss and decided to bat first. However Indian new ball bowler bowled really well to check New Zealand scoring in the initial overs.
B.McCullum top scored for New Zealand with 77 runs of 95 balls and put on 102 runs for the first wicket with J.Ryder (46 runs 57 balls) to give New Zealand a solid foundation for the batsman to follow.

But New Zealand middle order didn’t capitalized on the start given by the openers and lost five wickets for just 73 runs.
Ross Taylor got out cheaply, having lasted 13 balls for five runs.
McCullum was trapped leg before by Zaheer Khan (one for 49) and that left New Zealand 155 for three which quickly became 156 for four as Jacob Oram (one) came and went.
Martin Guptill (25) followed shortly after as he became Sharma's second victim and the hosts were struggling at 175 for five.

However Indian spinner Yuvraj Singh and Yusuf Pathan bowled really well and conceded just 54 runs in 14 overs between them and also shared one wicket each. Ishant Sharma, on his comeback from a shoulder injury, finished with figures of two for 57 off eight overs in the match.
At one stage New Zealand were at 175/5 in 37 over but thanks to 95 run partnership of just 61 balls for the sixth wicket between P.McGlashan (56 runs of 42 balls) and G.Elliott (35 runs of 27 balls) which helped New Zealand to reach the target of 270/5 in rain reduce 47 over game.McGlashan's innings was a particularly entertaining, but highly unorthodox, knock as he used the reverse sweep well and smacked one six and six boundaries in his unbeaten 56 off 42 balls.

Initially chasing a target of 281 runs (D/L method) in 47 overs, both opener went on to smash the Kiwi bowlers in blistering fashion to put on 201 runs for the first wicket.
Sehwag smashed 125 runs of just 74 balls-including six sixes and 14 boundaries,
In the absence of injured Sachin Tendulkar, Gautam Gambhir stepped into the opener's role and added 63 to propel India to a resounding victory.

The target was changed to 220 off 36 overs (D/L method) following four rain delays.India were 201 without loss when rain interrupted play for the fifth and final time with 23.3 overs bowled.
Indian team was declared as winner by 84 runs(D/L method) .
Virendra Sehwag was declared Man of the Match for his inning of 125 runs of 74 balls.

TENDULKER'S TON GAVE INDIA AN UNBEATABLE LEAD IN THE SERIES

An unbeaten 163 by Sachin Tendulkar led India to a comprehensive 58-run win over New Zealand in the third one-day international at Christchurch on Sunday.
With this win,India has taken unbeatable lead of 2-0 in five match ODI series.

Tendulkar, utilising his full array of textbook and improvised shots. With the help of Sachin Tendulkar, India able to reach a mammoth total of 392/4 in their 50 overs.
Sachin Tendulkar inning of 163 of 133 balls which included 16 fours and 5 sixes.
This was Sachin Tendulkar first century on New Zealand soil and 43rd of his career.

Earlier New Zealand acting captain B.McCullum won the toss and put India in to bat. With the ball moving around,V.Sehwag and G.Gambhir found difficulty in get going.New Zealand got an early success with the dismissal of Virender Sehwag, India's dangerman in their previous matches, for only three and Gautam Gambhir followed for 15.
India lost this two quick wickets with just 65 runs on the board.

Yuvraj Singh joined The Master Blaster Tendulkar.
Yuvraj Singh who was so far silent on the tour with the bat, came out with all guns blazing and smashed a quick fire 87 runs of just 60 balls, with 10 boundaries and six sixes.
Yuvraj Singh and Sachin Tendulkar put on 138 runs of just 101 balls for the third wicket before Yuvraj got out in the 30th over of Indian innings. He missed his century by thirteen runs.

Dismissal of Yuvraj did not bothered Tendulkar as he continued to play in the same manner and was well on course of breaking his own record of highest score in ODI which is also against New Zealand.Dhoni gave him a good support at the other end.

Tendulkar smashed five sixes and 16 fours in his 163 coming from 133 balls, before he retired hurt with a pulled stomach muscle in the 45th over, leaving the field to a standing ovation.
The Indian skipper went on to make his 30th one-day half-century.He scored 68 runs from 72 balls with the help of 2 sixes and 5 fours.
Dhoni's innings eventually came to an end when he top edged to McGlashan to give Mills (two for 58 off 10) his second wicket.

Suresh Raina struck 5 sixes to make 38 not out off 18 balls with Yusuf Pathan one not out
The most successful of the New Zealand bowlers was Kyle Mills with two for 58, while Jacob Oram took none for 34 off eight.
In reply, New Zealand opener B.McCullum (71 runs of 68 balls) and J.Ryder (105 runs of 80 balls) started at brisk pace and went on to put 166 runs in just 22 overs for the first wicket.
New Zealand batting was also helped by some poor catching by the Indians. They drop as many as three easy straight forward chances. First it was M.S.Dhoni who dropped J.Ryder when he was on 45 on the bowling of M.Patel. In the very next over Yusuf Pathan dropped the catch of B.McCullum when he was on 38 runs on the bowling of Zaheer Khan. And in the end S.Raina dropped K.Mills on the bowling of Z.Khan to allow New Zealand to reach closer to Indian total.
Ryder pushed the ball to Suresh Raina, who had not been comfortable out in the field, but this time he fired a return straight back to wicketkeeper Dhoni and McCullum was run out for 71.
Ryder posted his first ODI century before he was caught by Zaheer Khan off Harbhajan Singh for 105, including 12 boundaries and four sixes.

Ross Taylor made seven before he was run out by a perfect shy at the stumps from Yuvraj, while stepping out of his crease seeking a possible leg bye.
When Martin Guptill fell leg before wicket to Yuvraj, New Zealand were 182 for three with the wickets falling in 21 balls.

Southee (32 runs of 20 balls) went on to put 83 runs in just 42 balls to gave New Zealand another hope of getting the target. But real drama came in the 45th over bowled by Munaf Patel. His first delivery was hit for six over long off by K.Mills to reach his first fifty in ODI’s, second delivery was called no ball because of high full toss on which K.Mills was caught and fourth delivery was again called no ball bowled by M.Patel to same batsman and again he was caught by M.S.Dhoni and then umpire R.Koertzen decided to take Munaf Patel out of the attack.

M.S.Dhoni has no other option than throwing the ball to Yusuf Pathan. He did it for his team by removing dangerous looking K.Mills in his four over spell and conceded just a single.
Mills cracked 54 and Southee 32 before they fell in successive balls to end the game.
On the very first ball of 46th over bowled by P.Kumar wrapped up the match by removing T.Southee.

On a ground with short boundaries, the Indian innings produced 18 sixes in all, equalling the world record for an international innings. The previous records was made by South Africa (18 sixes in an inning against Netherlands), India (18 sixes against Bermuda in World Cup 2007) and by New Zealand (18 sixes in an inning against Ireland).New Zealand added 13 to set a world record of 31 sixes in a match.

The match produced a total of 726 runs, the second-highest aggregate in one-day cricket internationals.Previously, the match against Australia and South Africa had produced a total of 872 runs in 2006.

Sachin Tendulkar is declared Man of the Match for his inning of 163 runs of 133 balls.
