Dilshan and Sanath Jayasuriya (37) made a sound start.
Jayasuriya was fortunate to survive on 19 when Ravindra Jadeja put him down at point off Irfan Pathan - but soon he was caught at mid-off off the same bowler .Sangakkara was quickly into his scoring and reached his half-century off just 46 deliveries.
He eventually was caught by Rohit Sharma at long-on off Yuvraj. He scored valuable 84 runs.Thilina Kandamby had made 26.
Ishant claimed two wickets in his sixth over. Dilshan was run out by a direct throw from Rohit in the same over.He got out at 97 runs, missing his century by 3 runs. But Maharoof's power pushed his team past 300.
finally,Sri Lanka reached 320 at the coast of 8 wickets.
Dhoni bowled everyone in the team except himself and Gambhir - and Ishant was the pick of the bowlers with three for 60.

India, chasing for the first time in the series, soon lost Virender Sehwag and Raina. Gambhir was then caught behind, making room to cut.

Muttiah Muralitharan took important wicket of Yuvraj Singh (73) and got Yusuf Pathan cheaply - and although Mahendra Singh Dhoni (53) and Ravindra Jadeja (60no) kept India in the race with a 55-run seventh-wicket stand.
