Tendulkar hit 111 in 101 balls while Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir also added half-centuries.After that India collapsed from 267 for one to 296 all out,thanks to Dale Steyn's five-wicket haul.
Sehwag blasted 12 fours in an innings of 73 in 66 balls before he edged leg-spinner Francois du Plessis onto his stumps.He and Sachin made a 142-run opening partnership.
Tendulkar played a classy knock, including eight fours and three sixes,before he was caught by JP Duminy at point off Morne Morkel.He added 125 with Gambhir (69) for the second wicket.
Steyn then removed Gambhir, caught by Jacques Kallis, and Yusuf Pathan, well caught by Graeme Smith for nought. Yuvraj Singh (12) was the only other player to reach double figures.Steyn then dismissed Harbhajan Singh (3), Nehra (0) and Munaf Patel (0).India lost nine wickets falling for 29 runs.
